Lanterman's Mill - Fall. This was my first painting of The Lanterman's Mill I created using a photo I shot from the bridge just after the sun went down on a warm fall evening. The purple and pink that you see reflected in the waterfall are actually seen just before the darkness takes over. I wanted to make the my best painting I ever painted using oils and waited until I was more experienced before attempting it. Many artists have painted the "Old Mill" and so I knew I had to put my heart and soul into to because it had always been a favorite place to visit since childhood. I took countless bike 10-mile loop bike rides here from home and looked forward to stopping along the bridge and take in the sight, sound and smell of this scene. I hope this painting allows viewers to experience the same.
