In spite of all official talk to the contrary, the number one activity of the United States Forces taking part in the Japanese occupation was collecting souvenirs. Almost anything would do, but in highest demand, along with fine Samurai swords was Japanese silk parachutes. Here a group of Marines and Naval air crewmen have brought loot from a whole warehouse full of huge cargo blue parachutes, discovered back in the hills, back to their hangar at Yokosuka airfield. They have strung up the chutes and are avidly cutting out the silk segments from between the reinforcing seams. Many a gal in the States will be wearing blue both under and over.
