In a vast room far under a hillside the Japs had established a highly complex but efficient filter center for the purpose of plotting raids by B-29s and carrier based allied aircraft. This center controlled the air defense of the Tokyo and southern Honolulu areas. Safe from any blast, Japs could sit and sweat it out while the defenders above vainly tried to stop the ever increasing raids. Though it was found abandoned in good condition, visitors invariably found themselves host to myriads of fleas.
